It’s snowing in Ibiza!
To all those who thought in Ibiza we’re safe of the cold weather, here you have evidences of the weather these days. This weekend the polar cold snap has left the field with a thin layer of white snow and ice. Even in the boulevard of Vara de Rey, located in the center of Ibiza town, sea level, people walked stunned watching the snowflakes fall. But the best part was in Formentera, where the snow layer was even thicker. Have you ever been in an unbearably hot day in La Mola? Now you can play in the snow! And cold days aren’t over!
But this is not usual, temperatures did not drop this way since 1956, called in Ibiza “the year of the cold.” In February 1956 temperatures felt again in the Balearic Islands. Three consecutive Siberian cold waves swept the island, leaving seven snow storms. The year of the snow, as it is known in the island, would come seven years later, in 1963.
It’s freezing in paradise!
