Talamancais traditionally known as the beach of the people who live in the city of Ibiza. Historically the inhabitants of the city of Ibiza have flocked to the water to enjoy summer days at the beach and even for some healing issues. In this post we want to show you that this beach, one of the longest in Ibiza, has many faces to enjoy at any age and at any time.

1. Being situated in the bay of Talamanca and due to its orientation this beach has no dangerous currents. Its waters have a very gentle slope and the sand is fine and clean. These features make it an ideal place to spend the day with children and having no danger.

2. Thanks to Talamanca being so large you can practice all kinds water sports. There are several points where you can rent pedalos, boats or surfboards and optimists. Its calm waters are perfect for learning to play this kind of sports or otherwise to enjoy the scenery from the sea.

3. At the back of the beach, near the Hotel Victoria is a rocky area where the more adventurous can enjoy making jumps. It is advisable to learn the depth and danger of them, so you can ask at the reception of the hotel, but if you are very careful it’s a perfect place to burn off some adrenaline.

4. Its exceptional views of the walled city of Dalt Vila have attracted dozens of restaurants offering an alternative for everyone. From fine dining restaurants, to pizzerias and small bars of sardines every palate will be rewarded in a beautiful setting.

5. Finally and for romantics, we strongly recommend a nice walk under the stars in Talamanca. Its wooden walkway runs along the beach and within half hour you can reach from the Hotel Victoria to Marina Botafoch’s promenade.

Another feature that makes Talamanca very special is the qualities of its waters. Locals have loved this beach due to its healing properties due to the concentration of marine flora of the bay waters they have a high concentration of minerals that make them very desirable to cure certain skin diseases. You don’t believe it? Come and enjoy the hundreds of faces of Talamanca and share them with us!

Espais Natura organizes for Friday May 24 a new trip to visit the natural reserves of Es Vedra and Es Vedranell under the moon linght. Starting at 8pm till 10 pm this is a pretty nice trip to take! These islands hoard a lot of history, legends and fables that mixing a bit of both worlds, memories and imagination have managed to create an aura of mystery around them.

OVINS sightings, virgins floating, sirens and strange currents are recurring stories throughout history and have become part of popular imagination. There are many walkers and locals who swear to have seen strange lights flying near the islet. Without specifying whether these sightings have something to do with certain substances consumed or if the existence of the myth force certain phenomena sightings the islet awakes this strange fascination for centuries. Long ago the fishermen spoke that in the island lived a giant, The Gegant d’Es Vedra, who ate octopuses and safeguarded the island. There were also sailors who had lived near the area and swear to have seen mermaids and other fantastic creatures.

Francisco Palau was the missionary who popularized mysticism of Es Vedra in the modern era. After spending long periods on the island to meditate he said he saw what he described as “ladies of light” or “heavenly beings”. Later, renowned divers claimed that near Es Vedra it was possible clearly ear metallic sounds.

Whether by boat and listen to the true nature that lives on the islands, to know their stories, to feel their magnetism or simply enjoy the views, Es Vedra and Es Vedranell are an unavoidable visit, which will not leave anyone indifferent.
You can visit by boat, next May 24 for four euros per person. Later, there are all kinds of boat trips around the rock and award the lucky ones to see the mysterious goats who live there with a bottle of champagne. Finally and for the truly adventurous, we recommend a trip to the lookout tower called Es Savinar, located opposite the island. This tower, renamed by the writer Blasco Ibáñez as “La Torre del Pirata” offers, a historical and key point to feel the real magnetism and how special this place can be.

Twenty restaurants located throughout all the city of Ibiza will battle in an unprecedented duel to seduce customers with succulent tapas made with “medieval” ingredients. You may ask yourself what’s that? Come and discover it for only 2 euro per tapa and drink! Those that will take this adventure seriously and will taste minimum ten restaurants collecting their seals can enter the draw for a dinner for two.

And again you may wonder what about noon? There is also an option for those who want to enjoy the terraces tasting recipes coming from the Middle Ages. The Medieval Menus and they exist in two forms, for commoners 12 euros and nobles 20 euros.
Ancient traditions

In addition to enjoy the beaches, hiking trails, sun terraces and Ibiza’s nights, this year we want to recommend you to not miss its gastronomy. Today we review new products that are added to the deli offering of all the delicious flavors that are “made in Ibiza”.
On the one hand we have the wines. In the dining room of the Hotel Victoria you can taste a selection of Ibiza’s most prized wines. Specifically we’re talking about the wines of Can Can Rich and Maymó’s cellar located in the town of Sant Antoni. These wineries produce their products in a environmentally friendly way. In addition to wines, they also produce oil and a typical Ibiza drink made of aromatic plants. They have both white, red or sparkling wines. Perfect for any occasion!
The local varieties of grapes are Monastrel (mourverdre) and Garnacha in red, while white wines are made of the variety of Malvasia. Ibiza Wines are developed and produced in the areas of Sant Mateu, Buscatell and Sant Josep.

Liquid Gold

In recent years, they are also working on promoting oil made on the island. The golden liquid is made in the island in a traditional way. To check if the oil you are consuming is produced in Ibiza, look at the label, you should see the logo “Oli d’e”. At present there are two oil mills with modern facilities capable of meeting existing health legislation and an extra-virgin olive oil of excellent quality.
The more frequent olive varieties you can find in Ibiza are empletre (traditional variety, also known as Ibiza), Arbequina and Picual. The empletre olives give fruity oils ande Arbequina, Picual make a little, increase their shelf life. The Picual oils gives a stronger taste.
So on your next visit, don’t forget to give all your senses a bit of Ibiza!

The I Gastronomic Lamb Days of Ibiza will bring traditional and innovative dishes prepared with this coveted meat. The peculiarity is that they are all made with certified branded meat Lamb from Ibiza, controlled and managed by the Consell d’Eivissa. This label certifies that the animal has been raised in the most traditional way, which means in small flocks and free.
This type of farming is the most widespread in Ibiza and is still managed by peasants in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. In Ibiza lamb is traditionally linked to special occasions like Christmas or Easter, coinciding with the increased production of lamb but this time, they’re extending their season to give the opportunity to all gourmets to taste it.
A total of ten butchers and fourteen restaurants in the whole island are participating in this conference exhibiting distinctive and offering the best meat to eat at home or to be impressed by the culinary establishments.

Ribs with rosemary honey, traditional Sofrit Pagès, a savory stew with chicken, or the unbeatable barbecue are the main conservative combinations that marry the lamb. These are complemented by creative alternatives such as figs stuffed lamb or lamb leg stuffed with spinach and pine nuts.
This menu will be available in the restaurants included in this initiative until next April 21 for 20 euros per menu, drinks not included. Our recommendation? Do not miss a single one! Have a nice week!

This year Sant Josep surprised with the programme of its festivities. This year the guest star of the Sant Pepe Rock is the Spanish rock singer Loquillo, who makes a stop on his new tour called “De vez en cuando y para siempre” to present his new work ” La nave de los locos ” although he will also remember his greatest hits. After 26 years since his last visit, Loquillo comes to recover the essence of this rock festival. This time, the event will coincide with the Easter Holidays so it is preferable to buy tickets in advance. The price is 15 euros in advance and 18 at the box office.
The opening act will be, as always, held by Ibiza groups and this time it will be in charge of Pota Lait and Indulgentes. Two groups who stand out in the island and start making their inroads in Spain, so they also will ensure that the meeting does not lose its rock essence.

This weekend marks one of the most anticipated events in Sant Josep, the local Flower Power Party that will bring colored flowers, peace signs and all kinds of wigs to dance together for love and peace. The musical weekend begins tomorrow, Thursday March 21, with Rock a s’Olivera, at the Raco Verd bar, in front of the square of the village church. In this first evening of live rock music the protagonists are the three groups that will pace the night, 3 Acoustic, Morning Hits and Enrockats & Dirt Track Road.

Saturday night is the big night, the main event that will bring more flowers at night than during the day. The morning will be the turn of the youngest members of the house who will enjoy from 11.30 am Piruleto’s show and its games, make up and to close the morning hot chocolate! Later it’s the young and not so young people’s turn to have fun in the square in front of the Church starting at 22.00. Enma Lewis & BCN Fireballs will be the first group to lift the live night with a tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis. To close this dancing evening, DJ Pharma and Javi Box will play the classics of the 60s and 70s.

This is already the sixth edition of this event and promises to bring even more surprises than last year. One of the best details in the 2012 were the flowers and psychedelic montages projections on the church. Furthermore, all the bars and restaurants in the area are added to this event to get all the people traveling to the years of Flower Power. Peace and love everyone!

Check all the activities here!
